About the Role
The General Manager of People and Safety provides strategic support to executive leadership and employees, driving improvements in HR processes, systems, and workplace safety. They lead the development and implementation of people and culture initiatives while fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the HR team, providing guidance and support to achieve team and individual performance goals.

Support leaders in fostering a positive workplace that promotes high performance and employee development.

Advise and assist leaders on employee performance management, including coaching, career development, and handling disciplinary actions.

Interpret and ensure compliance with industrial instruments, legislation, and HR policies.

Conduct impartial investigations addressing employee complaints based on natural justice principles.

Act as a trusted advisor in recruitment processes, including participation in interview panels.

Provide expert consultancy on the improvement of people and culture policies, procedures, and systems.

Identify opportunities for organisational development and continuous improvement initiatives.
